Broadband Stimulus Programs

 

Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP)  

NTIA offers $4.7 billion in BTOP grants to encourage broadband infrastructure deployment in unserved and underserved areas enhanced broadband capacity at public computer centers sustainable adoption of broadband service.  BTOP-supported broadband development will help encourage job creation and stimulate long-term economic growth and opportunity.

  Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP).

In addition to the existing Community Connect broadband grant program, RUS now offers $2.5 billion in ARRA Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP) grants, direct loans and loan grant combinations, designed to provide economic stimulus through implemention of broadband in unserved and underserved communities.   These funds will be awarded on a competitive basis and must be obligated by September 30, 2010.
